How do you see the FM industry growing in the future?
With new technologies out there and the brilliant minds of people, there will be changes to machinery to make it easier to maintain any facility. Every year, attending the ConnexFM events, we see something new and we have that “wow” moment.
If you could describe the industry in a few sentences, what would you say?
I would say that this industry is very important to all businesses. Maintaining a facility and keeping employees safe at all times is vital to daily operations.
Why should someone be a ConnexFM member? What are the benefits to membership?
I didn’t know about ConnexFM until my boss asked me to attend a conference about five years ago. Since then, I have attended every year, and I really enjoy it. You get to meet so many facilities professionals from across the country and learn about their businesses and what they have to offer. I can bring that information back to my organization and share it with my team.
Take us on the journey of your career path. How did you end up where you are?
I started working with the AAFES in Health and Beauty Aids, and I went on to work in the accounting department when a position became available in the FMO Dept. I have moved up to manage the administrative offices for the entire United States, including the Central, Western and now Eastern regions.
